Chargers Drop Contest at No. 13 Bryant & Stratton

The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team was unable to keep up with 13th-ranked Bryant & Stratton on Friday in an 80-32 loss.

Freshman Allison Westerdahl (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) scored 10 points to be the lone player in double figures for the Chargers (6-8), who were facing their third straight ranked opponent.

Daryan Bryant (Gary, Ind./Thea Bowman Leadership) added nine points, and Faith Price (Springfield, Ill./Lanphier) had a team-leading seven rebounds for Sandburg.

The Bobcats’ (8-4) La’Janique Perry-Ellis had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead all players in both categories.

UP NEXT FOR SANDBURG
Noon Dec. 28 against No. 1 Kirkwood in the Cougar Holiday Classic hosted by Illinois Central. The Chargers will play at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Dec. 29 against Sinclair or McHenry County before closing the tournament Dec. 30.
